The Seasons
The fishing can be good year round for bonefish, the weather is the big factor that drops the colder months down. Long Island is nice and south and a very warm current is present so fishing is very consistent in the winter. If you get a cold week it will be difficult fishing- on the other hand the da it warms up will be unbelievable as the fish are eager and hungry. It is possible to see a tropical storm or hurricane September and October. Again it is rare they hit the island but that is the season for tropical storm activity. The fishing is fantastic that time of year so if you are worried about a storm buy some travel insurance!
