Rangitikei Anglers is a very unique service on the North Island where we can utilize the best guides, the most variety of fly fishing trips and place you in accommodations that match your needs. The guides have aces to 4x4 vehicles, rafts, boats, and helicopters which can all be used in a variety of ways or combinations to approach the fishing. Most of the fishing is accessed through 4x4 vehicles that can get close to good sections of many rivers and you will hike from run to run and fish to fish at the end of the day you head back to your chosen accommodations. This is the normal approach to fishing in New Zealand. Float trips are another option unique to Rangitikei Anglers. They have ben guiding so long that they are grandfathered into permits to raft certain rivers. These can be single day trips, or multiple overnight camping on the river. Delivery to these rivers can be by helicopter or 4x4. This is only outfitter able to offer multiple day floats either by flying in by helicopter. They also offer multiple day hike in fishing where you will camp in tents or stay in National Forest "huts" scattered throughout the region. Even here you have options - sherpa assisted trips so your load is light or if you are up to it, unassisted where you will carry your full share. These trips start by 4x4 or helicopter delivery. To complete the trip we will match you up with the right accommodations. You may be camping all, part or none of the time. For lodging options we have inexpensive hotels. family farm stays, mid range lodges, and luxury lodges, all the while keeping the same guides. As you can see the trip variations are almost endless and with over 40 different sections of rivers, spring creeks, streams to choose from you could stay 6 weeks and never fish the same section of water! The flexibility of our service, accommodations and guides means you will be delivered to where the fish are. If the rivers we first schedule you on seem too high for the best fishing we will move you to another area where the water levels and temperatures are perfect. |
